The Government has a stated aim to eradicate long-term unemployment for young people by supporting the creation of new subsidised jobs, that will give young people the skills, confidence and work experience to help them move into sustained employment.
  • The Youth Guarantee will provide fully funded, paid employment to 18-21 years who have been on Universal Credit and looking for work for 18 months.
  • The funding will cover six months of paid employment, or 100% of employment costs for up to 25 hours a week at the relevant minimum wage, plus additional funding for wraparound support and onboarding costs.
  • There is also funding for wrap around support to help individuals to get on in their job and turn their experiences into a sustainable job.
